The ACT team had a great morning at Arcanum Elementary presenting to a fantastic group of paraprofessionals and general education teachers on the Top 10 Strategies for Autism to kick off the school year! We started with an overview of the Underlying Characteristics of Autism and how these characteristics impact students.

Then, we shared ideas for addressing various characteristics in the classroom and school environment using evidence-based practices. It was great to share stories, pictures, and visual supports to illustrate use of these strategies.

We also loved answering lots of questions from the staff who seemed eager to get started with their learners.
