Around Town Round Up-- Classroom Rules and Expectations

Last week we featured a variety of Classroom Displays in our Organization Station Post. Today, we are going to continue with some various displays featuring Classroom Rules and Expectations in our Around Town Roundup.

 It is a great strategy to pair classroom rules with picture symbols to help students understand and remember the expectations. Also, school rules should be directly taught and reviewed often to make sure they are meaningful to students. We also love the tie

We created a visual for the teams we coach which includes interactive motions to get students ready to work.

1. My eyes are looking. (Students look at teacher)
2. My ears are listening (Students do “listening ear” pinches down ear)
3. My mouth is quiet (Students do shhh sign)
4. My hands are still (Students fold hands on desk)
5. My feet are flat (Students stomp feet)
6. My brain is thinking about what we will learn today. (Segway into teacher reviewing lesson objectives/activities)
